Our 19th Reunion was very successful. Early arrivals were welcomed by Tiny and Anna Atkinson at their beautiful home in El Cajon, were they hosted a truly great cocktail party.

Most guests arrived on Thursday and started enjoying the fully stocked hospitality room.

Friday, we toured San Diego and enjoyed a buffet lunch at a waterside restaurant, with great views of the city. In the evening we enjoyed our "Welcome Aboard Dinner" at which time we welcomed three plankowners, six first timers and guests. We had a total of 42 former shipmates among a total of 95 attendees. Our memorial service was also held at that time.

Saturday we toured the USS MIDWAY Museum, had a buffet lunch on scenic Shelter Island, and then on to Point Loma which is a beautiful location, providing great views of the city and bay.

Our "Annual Banquet" was honored with guest speaker, Lee Atkinson, son of Tiny and Anna; a formal Naval officer and now program director for Raytheon Corp. He spoke of construction of new ships being built for the USN. It was a fantastic talk of the 21st Century Warship.

The Sunday morning buffet breakfast was a little more somber event as everyone knew it would be a year before we would meet again to share memories and renew old friendships. All said their farewells and promised to return again in 2005.

Once again our raffle was very successful.  Elaine Brothers, our "Raffle Lady" ran the raffle and provided the association with approximately $1.000.  She has been so great in doing this every year, we thank her with great sincerity.  Also, thank you to Nancy Fraser and her grandchildren in assisting in the handing out of the raffle prizes.

Dick & Donna Enright had the "Ships Store" open and did a wonderful job as usual.  Sales went well and amount that had to be sent back home was minimal.

The 2005 reunion is scheduled to be held in the Norfolk, VA area in October.
