Once I was steering the ship during a Officer exchange with the Carrier. The
Carrier had sent some of it’s officers to the Berry and the Berry sent some of it’s
officers to the Carrier. The plan was to educate the officers about each ships
shipboard operations. Anyway, I had the helm when one of the Carriers officers had the Con.
He called out a coarse change. “Helmsman steer 370 degrees”! I responded “Sir my compass
only goes to 360 degrees. He complained “That’s the trouble with these small ships”.
I swear that this is a true Sea Story!
